Current Band Members are:
The Pipe Corps:
Pipe Major
Criminalist Ken Jones, Portland Police Bureau – Ken Jones is our current pipe major and he has been serving us well since 2003. Kenny was our first recruit back in '98. He now also coordinates the Portland Scottish Smallpipe Gathering when he's not gathering photos and fingerprints for the Police Bureau. Kenny sits on the Board of the Portland Police Historical Society as well. Ken is continually pushing the band to always get the best sound and for this we thank him.
Pipe Sergeant
Mr. Jacob Macintyre, Portland Police Highland Guard Instructor - When we started this band, we figured we'd better find somebody to teach us how to play pipes. Jerry Gaidos picked Jake's "pipe lessons" business card off the wall at the Scottish Country Shop and the rest is history. This guy is no idiom!
Piper/Founding member
Officer Erin Anderson, Portland Police Bureau - Erin was PM in 2001 & 2002 and the Band Manager from 2002 - 2005. Erin works at the Police Bureau's East Precinct. A musical background and Scottish heritage are Erin's driving forces toward this endeavor.
Piper/Founding member
Sergeant Brian Kelly, Portland Police Bureau – With a background as a music teacher, Brian served as our first Pipe Major. He seems to have the ability to play virtually any musical instrument that crosses his path. Brian works at the Bureau’s Northeast Precinct.
Piper/Co-Band Manager
Officer Garth Edwards, Portland Police Bureau (Retired) - Garth is a 2003 addition to the band. He retired from the PPB in 2006. He is energetic and with all that time on his hands, gets quite a bit done. Garth spends his leisurely time running a fishing guide business.
Piper
Detective Mike Perry, Portland Police Bureau – Mike is assigned to the Family Services Division. He started piping instruction in 2003. Mike received the outstanding band member award for 2006 for his hard work on the bagpipes and his time and effort towards fund raising activities. He has organized all of our Burns Dinners.
Piper/Quartermaster
Officer Jim Watson, Vancouver (Washington) Police Department - Jim is a 2002 addition to the band and is becoming an asset we cannot do without. His day job is as a patrolman in the City of Vancouver. Jim is responsible for making sure the band is equipped.

Captain Al Maich, Redmond (Oregon) Police Department (retired) - Al is originally from Canada. He's now a Patrol Captain in Redmond and makes the 3-hour, one-way; commute to Portland nearly every Monday night for band rehearsals. Al came to us in early 2005 and is the former PM of the Oregon Defense Force Pipe Band.
Piper
Master Alex McCaul - Son of Deb and Rick McCaul, Alex is our newest and youngest piper. He's in training and promises to be an asset, if we can ever get him to wear his baseball cap in the right direction!
Piper
Firefighter Rick McCaul, Portland Fire Bureau - Rick joined us in 2000. He is the Father of Alex and the husband of Deb; a testament to the value of piping/drumming as a family activity.
Piper
Deputy Jeremy Worledge, Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office – Jeremy is a piper in training and proves his dedication by making the long drive over the Coast Range to make our practices and events.

Officer Adam Baker, Gresham Police Department - Adam represents the neighboring city east of Portland. He's been drumming with us since 2001. Adam patrols the night shift. Adam also plays many of the exotic percussion instruments that are in some of our advanced sets.
